Theories and models help us to explain behavior. Theories which are at the individual level additionally center around intrapersonal factors. How does the author use the figurative language of “coins” and “rain” in both the opening and closing lines of the poem (Line 1
REY [17]

Taken from the poem “Abuelito Who” by Sandra Cisneros, the author has used the figurative language of “coins” and “rain” in lines 1, 20, and 21 in order to describe her memories about her grandfather. Cisneros has used simile, which is a figure of speech, throughout the poem. The main function of simile is to make a comparison to show the similarities between two different things. Moreover, simile is usually accompanied by words such as “as” and “like”. In the text, there are two examples of this figure of speech: “Abuelito who throws coins like rain” (line 1)/ “is the rain on the room that falls like coins” (line 21). Simile has helped the author develop the meaning of the poem, that is, to narrate about particular memories she has of her grandfather or “abuelito”, an affectionate term for a grandfather in Spanish. For instance, Cisneros used figurative language and simile in line 1 to describe how her grandfather played with her making coins fall like raindrops from above.

The years 1609-1610, how many settlers were killed by Indians?
Schach [20]

Answer:

400 settlers

Explanation:

Instead of growing their own supply of corn (a New World crop unfamiliar to the English), the settlers relied heavily on corn grown by nearby Indians. But even with their neighbors' help, over 400 settlers would die over the winter of 1609-1610.

ArbitrLikvidat [17]
Renting a place of residence is having fewer responsibilities than homeowners since they do not have to deal with maintenance and repairs. It also offers mobility when a location change is necessary or desirable. Taking possession of a rental house is cheaper than buying a home.

How did the Spanish treat the Indians in America
ExtremeBDS [4]

A Spanish treatment of the Native Americans was poor. Spanish explorers considered the natives inferior. Consequently, they forcibly converted natives to Christianity, confined them to slavery and murdered them.

Why? The Spanish, for the most part, treated the Native Americans poorly. The Spanish were interested in the riches of the Americas, and they had no problem in forcing the Native Americans into slavery so they could mine the gold and the silver for Spain
