How do rock fractures cause vibrations?
Andrews [41]

Answer:

Earth seismic waves creates vibrations and makes the plate move, it leads to splitting and breaking of the rocks.

Explanation:

  • First, when the crust is broken due to forces of folding and faulting processes, the stress extends towards the rocks and which if prolonged can lead to snapping and breaking of the rocks in their new position.
  • This process leads to vibration due to the release of the seismic waves. The fault created a fracture in the rocks and thus energy is released from within.

How long to leave diatomaceous earth on carpet for fleas.
Nataly [62]

Answer:Explanation:

DE is highly absorbent and will then suck the moisture away from the pest until it dies of dehydration. After coming in contact with the diatomaceous earth, fleas may die in as little as 4 hours, though it is recommended to leave the DE for up to 48 hours(2 day) to ensure its effectiveness.

It remains effective as long as it stays dry, and often takes a week or more to start killing insects. Since the insects may have laid eggs by then, leaving on the diatomaceous earth for several weeks will help prevent a rebound.

Bowen's reaction series Choose one: a) has a continuous series with a progressive change from sodium-rich to calcium-rich amphib
svetoff [14.1K]

Answer:

None of the above

Explanation:

The Bowen reaction series provides an insight to what happens to a crystallizing magma as it cools. There are two arms in the series, the continuous and the discontinuous series. The continuous series is made of the plagioclase feldspar. At high temperature, calcic plagioclase are crystallized out of the melt and at lower temperature, sodic plagioclase begins to from.

The discontinuous series consists of the trend through which other minerals are crystallized. At high temperature, olivine first forms and quartz is the last to crystallized out.

For a given melt, according to the Bowen's reaction series, the composition becomes more felsic at low temperatures. The silica content increases considerably.

The series is designed for silicate minerals found in nature and not sulfate minerals. The continuous series is for plagioclase feldspars  not amphibole. Amphibole is in the discontinuous series.
