The conflict at Little Rock Central High School was a reaction to the Brown vs. Board of Education ruling.
The Brown vs. Board of Education ruling was a Supreme Court case that stated that "separate but equal" educational facilities for black and white citizens violated the 14th amendment of the US Constitution. With this in mind, 9 black students tried to enroll and attend Little Rock Central High School (a previously all white school) after this case. However, the Governor of Arkansas refused to allow these students in by using state milita to stop them from entering. Dwight D Eisenhower, president at the top, responded by sending in the national guard to escort these students into the school.
The Oregon trail was the most used trail during 1843 to 1870 and ran from Independence, Missouri, to the Willamette River valley. It was made from 1811 to 1840. There's an old-timey game about it too! Hope this helped!
