The arab nationalist movement that formed in the middle east during british and french occupation was called Pan-Arabism.

Pan-Arabism, also known as Arabism, refers to an ideology which supports the unification of the countries of North Africa and Western Asia from the Atlantic Ocean to the Arabian Sea. It is associated to Arab nationalism, which affirms the view that the Arabs conform a single nation. Its popularity reached its height during the 1950s and 1960s.
