I think it is -8. Subsitute the value. 2(-8) +1=-15 which is less than 0. When you plug -8 for x^2 -1 you get 64-1 which is 63. 63 is offcourse greater than 0.

1st ANSWERER GETS BRAINLIEST even if their wrong
sammy [17]

Answer:

1.75...?

Step-by-step explanation:

Uhh... Well if you're that desperate I'll try it.

If the actual football diameter is 21

Plug it into 1 : 12

x : 21

x / 21 = 1 / 12

12x = 21

x = 7 / 4

I don't really understand what the problem's asking though so this is probably wrong.

What is x in the equation
4(x+6)= 5(x+9)+4x?
Hoochie [10]
Hello there!

4(x + 6) = 5( x + 9) + 4x

We wanna start with the distributive property

(4)(x) + (4)(6) = (5)(x) + (5)(9) + 4x

4x + 24 = 5x + 45 + 4x

4x + 24 = 9x + 45

Subtract 24 on both sides

4x + 24 - 24 = 9x + 45 - 24

4x = 9x + 21

Subtract 9x on both sides

4x - 9x = 9x + 21 - 9x

-5x = 21

Divide both sides by -5

-5x/-5 = 21/-5

x = -21/5

How do you solve 1/3 of 3/4
of a fraction
Trava [24]

1 1/12

The fractions have unlike denominators. First, find the Least Common Denominator and rewrite the fractions with the common denominator.

LCD(1/3, 3/4) = 12

Multiply both the numerator and denominator of each fraction by the number that makes its denominator equal the LCD. This is basically multiplying each fraction by 1.

(13×44)+(34×33)=?

Complete the multiplication and the equation becomes

4/12+9/12=?

The two fractions now have like denominators so you can add the numerators.

Then:

4+9/12=13/12

This fraction cannot be reduced.

The fraction

13/12

is the same as

13÷12

Convert to a mixed number using

long division for 13 ÷ 12 = 1R1, so

1312=1 1/12

Therefore:

13+34=1 11/2
