Epithelial cells are specialized to protect,absorb and secrete substances as well as detect sensations....Why are nerve cells are used to carry information or impulses from one part of the body to another.

those cells or tissues which form the covering of skin and various vital organs like heart (pericardium), lungs ( pluera ) and peritoneal cells are epithelial tissues .they may be ciliated and flagellated .due to this they help in movement of fluid in female reproductive tract .they also form the lining of nephron

those cells which are involved in generation and conduction of nerve impulse are called nerve cells. they do not provide any covering and protection
