Sonnet XXIII
While rose and lily
the color is shown in your gesture,
and that your burning, honest look,
it kindles the heart and restrains it;
And while the hair, that in the vein
gold was chosen, with swift flight,
by the beautiful white collar, straight,
the wind moves, scatters and messes:
take from your happy spring
the sweet fruit, before the angry time
cover the beautiful summit with snow.
The icy wind will wither the rose,
