Answer:

20 questions

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of correctly solved question=x

Let the number of incorrectly solved questions=y

There are 48 problems

Therefore: x+y=48......(I)

The teacher pays 7 cents per correct question

The teacher fines the student 5 cents for incorrectly solved questions

Therefore, the teacher pays the student a total of 7x for correctly solved questions

The teacher fines the student a total of 5y for incorrectly solved questions

Since they do not owe each other

7x=5y .......(ii)

We then solve (I) and (ii) simultaneously

x+y=48......(I)

7x=5y .......(ii)

From (I), x=48-y

Substitute x=48-y into (ii)

7(48-y)=5y

336-7y=5y

336=7y+5y

336=12y

y=336/12=28

From (I)

x=48-y=48-28=20

Therefore the student solved 20 questions correctly.

This one is hard for me so can anyone plz help me
nirvana33 [79]

Answer: The distance between a and c is 8 units

Step-by-step explanation:

You can count the number of units they are apart, but if there isn’t a grid, then do this:

If x or y values in the ordered pairs are different, subtract them from each other and find the absolute value of the difference. (It’s my own rule, so there is a better method. My explanation apples only to ordered pairs that share a x or y value, like A and C)

2-(-6) = 8, and the absolute value of 8 is 8

Or

(-6)-2 = (-8), and the absolute value of -8 is 8 (You’ll get the same answer)

Which of the following expressions is equivalent to a+(– b)? Select all that apply.
Setler79 [48]

Answer: first option.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the expression:

a+(- b)

You need to remember the multiplication of signs:

(+)(+)=+\\(-)(-)=+\\(-)(+)=-

Then, you know that:

a+(- b)=a-b

So, an equivalent expression must have a and -b. Let's check the expressions provided in the options:

(- b ) + a=-b+a \\\\b + (-a)=b-a \\\\(-a ) + b=-a+b

You can observe that the equativalent expression is:

(- b ) + a

What is x and the measure of angle EHF

grin007 [14]

Answer:

x = 10, ∠ EHF = 110°

Step-by-step explanation:

7x and 11x are adjacent angles and sum to 180° , then

7x + 11x = 180

18x = 180 ( divide both sides by 18 )

x = 10

∠ EHF = 11x = 11(10) = 110°
