Bryan Stevenson's speech deeply echoed and reflected the themes of social injustice and inequality in Harpee Lee's novel - To Kill A Mockingbird. The prevelance of this injustice is explored with a clear hierarchy between the white families, all of whom are "ranked" above the towns black residents.
