Imperialism contributed to the outbreak of world war I by building an empire requires manpower. The example of manpower which was built in the military to defeat and keep the land or country that they colonized.

EXPLANATION

World War I occurred between two sides; the triple entente and triple alliance. It started on the 28th of July 1914 and ended on the 11th of November 1918. The main cause of World War I was the difference in ideologies. Yet, there was another strong cause to World War I; the assassination of Austria’s Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The conflict raised because of these four aspects: nationalism, imperialism, militarism, and alliances. Militarism became a potential threat to other countries.

Thus, weaker countries started creating alliances to protect their land.

Imperialism contributed to the outburst of World War I because building an empire requires manpower such military to defeat and keep the land or country that they took over.

Through alliances system, a local conflict could easily become a global intimidating one. Nationalism also became the main cause of the first World War because countries were greedy and unnegotiable. Nationalism showed that each country is proud of their own country. Citizens want their country to be the best. All countries want to be better than each other. Yet, that excessive ambition makes countries compete unhealthily.
