Answer: An adjective describes a noun or pronoun- example, "That boy is so loud!". The boy is the noun and loud is the adjective.

An adverb describes a verb or anything apart from a noun or pronoun. "That boy speaks so loudly!". The verb is speaks and loudly is describing how he speaks which is the adverb.
