Answer:

Endochondrial ossification is one of the two major pathways through which the skeletal structure is formed. While the other one, intramembranous ossification, is used to form the flat bones mostly of the skull, face, and others, endochondrial ossification is pretty unique because it depends on the presence of hyaline cartilage as a blueprint during fetal development, to then initiate the process of bone formation.

Endochondrial ossification is the process followed by long bones, like the femur. This ossification process initiates about 6 to 8 weeks into fetal development and it is not finished until adolescence. As such, the correct steps of the process of endochondrial ossification would be:

3. Chondrocytes (cells responsible for the formation of the hyaline cartilage) enlarge and calcify.

1. Blood vessels invade the perichondrium. This perichondrium appears over the hyaline cartilage and covers it before calcification and with the arrival of blood vessels, come osteogenic cells, some of which will mature later on into osteoblasts.

5. The perichondrium is converted into a periosteum and the inner layer produces bone. This happens as the matrix attracts mineral salts and traps them into the matrix. The periosteum is the hard covering of bones and calcification and ossification will continue from the middle of the long bone towards the distal parts.

4. Osteoblasts replace calcified cartilage with spongy bone. This type of bone which emerges as the newly specialized osteogenic cells (osteoblasts) replace the cartilage for it, is specific to the epyphysis of long bones, or the heads, of these bones.

2. Osteoclasts create a marrow cavity. Osteoclasts are the other specialized type of osteogenic cells and their purpose is to digest bone to remodel it. During the skeletal formation of long bones, blood vessels will require spaces where they can interact with the bone tissues, especially the spongy parts, and these spaces are known as the marrow cavities.

Which lipid acts as a chemical messenger? adipose tissue cholesterol testosterone beeswax
liq [111]
The answer is testosterone.

Testosterone is an androgen sex hormone. Like all other hormones, it serves as a chemical messenger. It will bind to its receptor in the cell and that way performs its function. Among all choices, only testosterone is a hormone a chemical messenger. Adipose tissue is tissue, cholesterol is lipid and a structural component of cell walls and can be a precursor molecule for some biochemical pathways. Beeswax is a natural bees' product.

When recombinant DNA is inserted into the genome of a host organism, what's created? A. A genetic marker B. A restriction enzyme
PIT_PIT [208]

The answer is C.

Transgenic means that one or more DNA sequences from another species has been introduced by artificial means. For example, animals usually are made transgenic by having a small sequence of DNA injected into a fertilized egg or developing embryo. Transgenic plants can be made by introducing foreign DNA into a variety of different tissues.

Most transgenic organisms are generated in the laboratory for research purposes. Others have been developed for commercial purposes such as golden rice that has been modified to produce beta-carotene, the precursor to vitamin A.

What factors go into calculating an ecological footprint
zzz [600]

Ecological Footprint

Explanation:

 • The Ecological Footprint of an individual is determined by including the entirety of individuals' requests that vie for organically gainful space, for example, cropland to develop potatoes or cotton, or backwoods to create timber or to sequester carbon dioxide outflows.
 • The national normal or per capita Ecological Footprint of utilization is equivalent to a nation's Ecological Footprint of utilization isolated by its populace.
 • As indicated by the Global Footprint Network, the Ecological Footprint for the normal American is 8.6 gha, more than twofold Brazil's normal of 3.1 gha and Mexico's normal of 2.6 gha. Check The month to month service bills.
 1. Increase your kilowatt hours by 1.85. For instance, 67 hrs X 1.85 = 123.95 lbs of CO2.
 2. Increase your flammable gas use (therms) by 13.466. For instance, 19 therms X 13.466 = 255.854 lbs of CO2.
 3. Increase gallons or propane utilized by 13.
 4. Increase gallons of fuel utilized by 22.
