Discuss the following statement:
Reil [10]

Explanation:

People share too much information about themselves online because there is a sense of obscurity when it comes to the internet. People believe that they can take up any identity they want when they are online because it awards them some sort of secrecy and privacy.

For this reason, people will use various usernames, especially those that cannot be linked to them. You get this feeling/sense that you are someone else. You can be anyone or anything you want to be online and this is why people reveal a lot about themselves through the various platforms. You can have a friend from another country, continent and you know you can discuss anything with him or her without having your name on the scandal sheet the next day.

Young people do not know how to interact in the real world because they have created another world for themselves; a world of internet, fantasy and games. Many youths are glued to their phone and laptop screens while the world pass them by because they are not interested in that world, rather they are in their comfort zone.

For this reason they find it difficult to interact in the real world especially with people who are not of their "world."

Answer:

On a Monday Evening, My Parents went to go for shopping in the mall. I was watching a television when suddenly i heard a loud bang on the window in the living room. I got startled and got up in fright. I looked out the window and saw a stranger. I went to call the police but when i came back to see, surprisingly,He was able to enter my house. I saw the open door behind me,realizing that i had forgotten to lock the door.

The stranger had a scar on his face and a knife in his hand. I was terrified. A few moments later, he asked me to give him money and some food. He tied my hands and my legs to ensure i could not call the police or hurt him.

Just as he was about to leave, My friend Devan came by and saw the stranger. He ran out of the house Trying to get help for me. The stranger followed him leaving me behind. I was helpless since my hands were tied.

Devan Went to his house close by with the stranger following him. He went to the back yard and let his dog loose. The dog ran behind the stranger and caught him. Devan quickly caled the police and the stranger was captured.

Match the definition to the word. 1. a thing that represents itself and something else]a. symbolb. imageryc. metaphord. metonymy
mojhsa [17]
 1. A thing that represents itself and something else – symbol. An example would be the dove, or the colour white, symbolizing peace.
 2. One thing IS another – metaphor. What distinguishes the metaphor from the simile is that the metaphor is directly introducing the imagery in the text without a comparison word. An example would be: "he is such a pig."
 3. One thing is like another – simile. The simile introduces the comparison with a word such as "like" or "as." "He eats like an ogre" could be an example.
 4. Mental pictures created through descriptions which appeal to the senses – imagery. In literature, the purpose of imagery is to enrich the text by enabling the reader to picture elements of it in their mind.
 5. Use of one word in place of another word associated with it – metonymy. A common type of metonymy is the designation of something by where it is contained, for example "the White House" for the President's administration.
 6. A word which imitates a sound – onomatopoeia. Such as woof, crack, bang.
 7. Exaggeration – hyperbole.
 8. Apparent contradiction – paradox.
 9. Repetition of initial consonant sounds – alliteration. This is often used in poetry, but also in prose, to help the reader imagine the sounds of the scene which is being described (like lots of Ls when writing about water, or Ss when writing about a snake).
