Read the excerpt from "The Gift of the Magi" by O. Henry. Which sentence reveals the situational irony? Jim had not yet seen his

beautiful present. She held it out to him eagerly upon her open palm. The dull precious metal seemed to flash with a reflection of her bright and ardent spirit. "Isn't it a dandy, Jim? I hunted all over town to find it. You'll have to look at the time a hundred times a day now. Give me your watch. I want to see how it looks on it." Instead of obeying, Jim tumbled down on the couch and put his hands under the back of his head and smiled. "Dell," said he, "let's put our Christmas presents away and keep 'em a while. They're too nice to use just at present. I sold the watch to get the money to buy your combs. And now suppose you put the chops on."

“I sold the watch to get the money to buy your combs” is an example of situational irony. Her gift to him is for his watch, which he sold to get her a gift which is situational irony.

Read the excerpt from "I'm Not Thirteen Yet" by Amy Bernstein. Gradually, Lynette stopped inviting me over after school. One day
storchak [24]

Answer:

Option B. The significant event that is described in the excerpt is that Jamie loses her best friend.

Explanation:

The excerpt from the story "I am Not Thirteen Yet" written by Amy Bernstein is describing the significant event in the main character's life, where she loses her best friend. As the excerpt begins, the character express how she and her best friend have drifted apart "Lynette stopped inviting me over after school". The character is overhearing a conversation between her friend, Lynette, and another girl, in which they discuss their plans for after school, which involve going to the Ice-cream shop, but it is clear that the main character is not being invited to join the group, which reinforces the concept that she and her friend Lynette are no longer close.

Lilit [14]

When trying to decide to write about anything, here is my advice to you—write about what most interests you. Thus, my first recommendation to you is to write about the artist whom you most like. My second recommendation to you would be to write about the artist who has the most written about him/her. If there is a lot written about your topic, your research will be easier, and you’ll have more perspectives from which to choose as you vet your sources. Lastly, if, however, all three artists are equally as popular, and have an equal amount written about them, then, I would suggest going with the one whom you most recently read up on because you’ll be able to write more with information that is still “fresh” in your mind.
