Answer:

TRue

Explanation:

Environmental Impacts Assessments of wind power projects, when compared to Impact Assessments of different power projects, have shown that impacts from wind power is small when compared to that of fossil fuel power. The global warming potential of wind power per unit of energy produced is far lower than that of other power sources.

This renewable energy source has been seen to be the most efficient fuel for electricity, which generates over 1164% of the initial energy inputs when converted into electricity.

Answer:

True

Explanation:

Wind is the most efficient fuel for electricity. It creates 1164% of its original energy inputs when converted into electricity, unlike coal which retains just 29% of its original energy.

It is also environmental and eco-friendly.

Bogdan [553]

Organic compounds, such as carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids within the human body are referred as macronutrients.

These various macronutrients play different role in body like carbohydrates are used for energy (glucose). Fats are used to break food into fatty acids and protein helps in making hormones and muscles.

These macronutrient helps in the prevention of disease, provide energy to the body. All the macromolecules except the lipids are known as polymers.

Polymers are the natural or synthetic substance that are composed of large molecules that is called macromolecules.

Insulin is a hormone that regulates blood sugar by binding to its receptor, insulin receptor tyrosine kinase. How does insulinâ€
tamaranim1 [39]

Answer:

Insulin is a protein hormone which binds to the membrane receptor where as steroid hormones bind to the intracellular receptors.

Explanation:

Hormones can be divided into two groups based on their binding with receptor. Some hormones are water soluble like protein or peptide hormone (example is insulin) and catecholamines. These water soluble hormones cannot cross the plasma membrane of the target cell and thus bind to the membrane receptor. Binding to the membrane receptor leads to activation of intracellular enzymes which bring the physiological change. Steroid hormones in the other case can cross the plasma membrane and then bind to the intracellular receptors. The hormone receptor complex then either binds or activates specific portion of DNA to bring the physiological change.

Insulin is made by beta cells islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. It controls the levels of glucose. It is a small protein made of two polypeptides, one of 21 amino acids and the other of 30 amino acids. These two are called A chain and B chain and are linked together by disulphide bonds. The pro-hormone contains an extra stretch called C-peptide. During the maturation process the proinsulin looses the c-peptide to become mature insulin protein hormone. An american company called Eli Lilly, for the first time made recombinant human insulin.
