One of the major themes in the book <em>Restart</em> by Gordon Korman is change.

<em>Restart</em> is a novel written by Gordon Korman in 2017. The book tells the story of Chase Ambrose, a popular star of the school's football team. Most students fear him, especially Joel Weber, because Ambrose behaves like a bully. After he falls off the roof of his house, his whole life changes since he loses his memory. <u>Furthermore, not only his life changes, but also his personality</u>. After the accident, <u>Chase begins to understand how bad he behaved in the past</u>. Therefore, the accident means a new opportunity to rebuild himself and to correct the mistakes he did in the past.<u> The message that the book intends to transmit is that</u><u> a person can change</u>.

Does the speaker seem surprised that the raven speaks to him? If he wasn't surprised, what would that suggest about the speaker
Nesterboy [21]
He was not surprised because he was already going insane. Since he was hallucinating that the raven was spouting words at him. He was already ill to begin with so it was not a surprise he thought the raven spoke.

explain why the author felt "safe" in Manitou. how might her perceptions of this place reflect her native american beliefs
Sloan [31]

Answer:

Linda Hogan claimed she felt safe in Manitou for she believes "the underground movement of water and heat [were] a constant reminder of other life, of what lives beneath us, [and that] seemed to be the center of the world".

This place, to her, felt like the perfect amalgamation of the spatial barrier that the native Americans believe as the world of their ancestors. And in her exclamation of this place as the center of the world, she also shows that she holds a belief in the very belief of the native Americans.

Explanation:

Linda Hogan in her book "Dwellings: A Spiritual History of the Living World" talks about the houses we live in, and how they depend on humans to be deemed living spaces. She talks about her lifelong fascination and love for the world, the earth, where we live, delving into the relationship between the spaces that humans dwell in and the rest of nature.

Hogan stated that <em>"she felt safe in Manitou"</em> due to the fact that it reminded her of the<em> "other life, of what lives beneath us"</em>. She mentioned that <em>"with the underground movement of water and heat [...] it seemed to be the center of the world". </em>

This shows that her deep-rooted belief in the native American belief system is reflected in her own sense of comparison between the two spaces, that of humans and nature. She discusses how both spaces are necessary for the healthy psyche of a person and how interconnected the two are.
