One of the major themes in the book Restart by Gordon Korman is change.

Restart is a novel written by Gordon Korman in 2017. The book tells the story of Chase Ambrose, a popular star of the school's football team. Most students fear him, especially Joel Weber, because Ambrose behaves like a bully. After he falls off the roof of his house, his whole life changes since he loses his memory. Furthermore, not only his life changes, but also his personality. After the accident, Chase begins to understand how bad he behaved in the past. Therefore, the accident means a new opportunity to rebuild himself and to correct the mistakes he did in the past. The message that the book intends to transmit is that a person can change.

Please help me choose the subject and theme of this excerpt
Kruka [31]
The child is not kind. I wouldn't choose A. By that I mean that the child is not kind by nature.

He did not receive the dog as a gift from his father. That eliminates E.

The subject therefore is the dog was taken into a very abusive home.

The theme is the 4th one down. Those who are abused will abuse something or someone weaker than themselves. No where do we get the idea that the child is empathetic. The dog amuses him, nothing more.
