QUESTION 4 For a wind farm to be effective, it needs to be in a place with ____________. constant wind no wind high average wind
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answer:

High average wind speeds

Explanation:

Method 1:

To get this answer, we will need to do process of elimination. We need to eliminate the answer(s) we know that's wrong.

I eliminated No wind (B), and Constant wind (A).

That would leave is with High average wind speeds and Low average wind speeds. In the question, it says "For a wind farm to be EFFECTIVE".

Because of the word effective, High average wind speeds is correct.

Method 2:

For this, we will need to think. Constant winds would be too much for a wind farm to handle, and no wind would be pointless to even have one there. Low average wind speeds would be too poorly for an effective wind farm, so D is correct.

Hope i gave you back some of your brain cells! :D

What is gothic literature designed to do
satela [25.4K]
Gothic literature is meant to horrify. Its heavy use of dark, brooding imagery (enchanted forests, crumbling castles, ghosts, etc.) are designed to confuse the relationship of the reader's mind to the reader's senses. Basically, the reader knows that the story is fictional, but somehow the story still creates powerful feelings in the reader's body—like when you jump or scream during a horror movie.

The underlined part of sentence 1 is what kind of clause?
sp2606 [1]
The correct answer is noun clause.

The entire sentence is Scientists report that creatures living in the deep sea are in danger of starving to death. The entire dependent clause acts as the object of the sentence (What do the scientists report...?), which means that it cannot be an adverbial clause. Additionally, it is not describing a noun, and therefore it is not an adjectival clause either. Therefore we are left with the noun clause, which is the correct answer here.
