Intaglio printmaking can be dated back to the "Sumerian" people, around the year of 3000 BCE. The name itself however is relatively new, coming from the Latin "intagliare" which means "to cut"

If a floral artist were to use these tricks to convey depth in art, they would want flowers or whatever greenery is added to the piece that is in the background to be darker and larger, and the flowers closer to the viewer to be smaller and brighter. Use lighting to convey distance!!
