The last war in the Cold War event is The Vietnam War ends which ended in 1975. The Vietnam War was the war between South Vietnam backed by the United States and North Vietnam backed by the Soviet Union.

EXPLANATION:

There are ten major events during the Cold War. Here is the list of those ten major events:

1. Berlin Airlift

2. U-2 Incident

3. Cuban Missile Crisis

4. Vietnam War

5. Soviet-Afghan War

6. Korean War

7. Sputnik Crisis

8. Non-Proliferation Treaty

9. Perestroika and Glasnost

10. Berlin Wall Falls

The Vietnam War happened because the French could no longer Vietnam so that H o Chi Minh from North Vietnam built a communist country. The communist country in North Vietnam was backed up by the Soviet Union because the United States fought against the communist in North Vietnam. Thus, the United States backed up South Vietnam.

So, the Soviet-Union won't fight the U.S. directly but instead used a military conflict. The war continued until around 550,000 Allied troops supported the south in 1968. In Vietnam, the U.S. created almost no improvement because they seemed unable to evolve to the style of fighting of the Viet Cong.

Throughout the Tet war, which was meant to just be a truce, the Viet Cong murdered about 3,000 people in 1968. The communists betrayed their commitment and targeted several southern cities. The battle was fundamental to the concept of cold war because Soviets and The U.S. supported each other's opposing forces but did not have to declare war on one another. They also looked for ways to treat each other indirectly, and this was one of the clearest examples.
