The Quarantine speech, was delivered by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on October 5th, 1937, just as conflict in Europe was beginning to escalate and it became evident that the joint forces of Nazi Germany, Japan and Fascist Italy, were becoming a real threat to Europe and Asia, and also the world. However, at this point in time, American people did not see the threat clearly towards the U.S, and considered that their role in that conflict should be null. After the speech, in fact, many Americans reacted and strengthened their belief in the fact that America needed to remain neutral. However, to some others, it did have an effect, as they began to realize that things were starting to get out of hand, as it had happened in World War I.
