Why do all enzymatic reactions need activation energy? Why do all enzymatic reactions need activation energy? Energy is required

by an enzyme so that it can be reused. Energy is needed for the enzyme to find its substrate. Energy is required to disrupt a substrate’s stable electron configuration. Energy allows only the substrate to bind.

Answer:

Energy is required to disrupt a substrate’s stable electron configuration.

Explanation:

Activation energy is the energy required to initiate the chemical reaction. Activation energy is always kinetic energy. Activation energy is used to break the existing bonds of the substrate to destabilize it.

Breaking of existing bonds of the substrates creates a transition state which in turn has higher free energy than both reactants and products. Once the transition state is formed, the reaction proceeds towards the formation of the product.

Enzymes serve to lower down the activation energy for the reaction and thereby allow the reaction to occurs at a higher rate even at a normal temperature.

Avery's experiments showed that bacteria are transformed by:
Wittaler [7]

Avery's experiments showed that bacteria are transformed by “transforming principle” – DNA.

When Griffit in his experiments showed that R-strain bacteria (non-virulent) could be transformed by the heat-killed S bacteria, and become virulent, scientists assumed that there is some kind of “transforming principle” that is involved.

Avery and his colleagues cultured heat-killed S cells and tried t separate cellular components that could possibly be that “transforming principle”. Molecule of DNA gave positive result in a chemical test and also when enzymes able to degrade DNA were introduced, the transforming activity was eliminated.

The frequency of an allele in a population of manatees is 0.15. If the population is at Hardy-Weinberg for this locus, what numb
g100num [7]

Answer: C) 13.5

Explanation:

Given that the frequency of an allele in a manatee population is 0.15 and said population is at Hard-Weinberg (a well-known equation usually used to calculating processes regarding allele and genotype frequencies), the correct number of 600 individuals that should be homozygous for the allele is 13.5 individuals.
