Answer:

Terror is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus is a novel written by Mary Shelley. Through letters, aspects related to ethics in science and life in general are discussed in the novel.

In this excerpt, we can see through semantics how terror is transmitted by the emotions described there. We can see how the narrator describes the pulse that beat "so quickly and hardly", being so intense that the speaker "felt the palpitation of every artery." Even the narrator mentions dreams, the passage uses them to indicate loneliness, meaning that the speaker feels so lonely that not even his dreams are with him anymore.

Onomatopoeia is a word that sounds the same as it's meaning...there is none in the poem. Personification is making non-human things human like...since the poem is all about a person, this is not correct either. Hyperbole is an over exaggeration. Throughout the poem, Shakespeare over exaggerates the weaknesses of the person he loves.

In the passage given above, Della's husband has just bought for her a set of expensive hair combs which she had seriously craved for, but now she has cut her hair to buy a watch chain for her husband, so the combs are useless to her. But she is optimistic that her hair will grow back very soon and she will be able to use the combs.
