Answer:

Themes can be communicated through a written medium by looking at things such as word choice and you can look at tones that can connect to many themes or you can look at whether a character could be considered reliable or unreliable. Themes can be communicated through visual mediums by looking at specific aspects of the way a character looks or talks and you can see how they act and can get a sense of what is going on in a scene or a picture etc. Together, you can compare them to see what an overarching theme is and decide how it all ties together. You really have to read multiple times and look at something multiple times to make your decision and really look into the deeper meaning of something.
