depending on the situation it could be an assortment of reasons ranging from her psychological status or even anxiety. from my perspective it could be an anxiety issue that she did not advocate for herself ,she probably had so many things running through her mind that she could catch up with what was being said ,which in result made her feel inferior and made her not not advocate for herself.
