Answer:

What we call the Monroe Doctrine is a foreign concept  policy concept first mentioned in president James Monroe´s speech to Congress in December 1823. It includes two important principles.

The first is that statement that any intervention of European powers in the affairs of the nations of the American continent will bee seen as a hostile act to the interests of the United States. Washington would not welcome any such interference in the hemisphere.  "America for Americans" is the phrase that epitomizes this idea of the Monroe Doctrine.

The other principle is that the US would not intervene in the affairs of Europe and would rather stay neutral regarding rivalries among foreign powers.

Answer:

In the study of history as an academic discipline, a primary source (also called original source or evidence) is an artifact, a document, diary, manuscript, autobiography, a recording, or other source of information that was created at the time under study. It serves as an original source of information about the topic. Similar definitions can be used in library science, and other areas of scholarship, although different fields have somewhat different definitions. In journalism, a primary source can be a person with direct knowledge of a situation, or a document written by such a person.
