The Mughal emperor recognizes the right of the British East India Company to collect taxes in northeast India ,the British East India Company forced the weak emperor to accept this right.

The Treaty of Allahabad signed the political and constitutional embarrassment and the commencement of British rule in India. The British East India company simply forced him to accept their terms of face both specified and unspecified repurcussion. they also entreated him that they would protect him. However, the emperor had no option as he had been weakened, as well as his emperors by several internal wars of succession.
