Germany’s growing power and Britain’s desperate needs made it increasingly difficult for President Roosevelt to stay neutral during World War II.

Further Explanations:

Second World War was the global war that involved almost all the nations of the world by distinguishing it into two military alliances namely Allies and the Axis. It involved almost more than 1000 lakh citizens from 30 nations. The major participant nation exhausted their whole industrial, economic and scientific competencies in the war. The deadliest combat marked about 85 million causalities, mostly from China and the Soviet Union. The reason behind most of the causalities was large scale starvation and the use of nuclear weapons.

At the initial stage of the war, the United States remained neutral to avoid any further economic loss or destruction that it has suffered during the First World War. President Roosevelt was never in favor of getting involved in the war but the increasing power of Germany and the desperate need of Britain bothered him a lot. He decided to get involved in the war just to end the war and prevent any further destruction.

Germany's growing power and Britain's desperate need is the correct answer.

The US initially tried to remain neutral during World War II owning to large causalities in World War I. But The Germany's growing power and Britain's desperate need made it increasingly difficult for President Roosevelt to stay neutral. The Germany under Hitler was gaining more and more control in Europe which was being effectively helped by Soviet Union and on the other hand the fall of France had made Britain alone to fight the Axis. So it made difficult for Roosevelt to remain neutral during the World War II.

Explanation:

Imperialism, nationalism and militarism were all political situations that European countries were dealing with. They were taking over each other's territories, building up their defenses and had people that were so loyal to their own nation they would do anythng for their own country. This is where the assination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand comes in. An extreme-nationalist, Gavrilo Princip shot him and his wife, Sophie. Everyone started blaming each other and a war resulted.
