Answer:

8.55 days for a decay rate parameter of 8.1% per day

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming a decay rate parameter of  8.1% per day

the general equation for radioactive decay is;

N = N₀e^(-λt)

x - decay constant (λ) - rate of decay

t-  time

N - amount remaining after t days , since we are calculating the half life, amount of time it takes for the substance to to be half its original value, its N₀/2

N₀ - amount initially present

substituting the values

N₀/2 = N₀e^(-0.081t)

0.5 = e^(-0.081t)

ln (0.5) = -0.081t

-0.693 = -0.081t

t = 0.693 / 0.081  = 8.55

half life of substance is 8.55 days

Sally bought a sprinkler that squirts in a circular direction. With the center of the sprinkler as the center, it sends out wate
Verizon [17]

Answer:

37% of the backyard will not be covered by the water from the sprinkler.

Step-by-step explanation:

The sprinkler is at the centre (0,0). It squirts in a circular motion. The other end of the radius is at (12,16).

First we will calculate the radius of the circle.

r = \sqrt{(12-0)^2 + (16-0)^2}\\r = \sqrt{144 + 256}\\r = \sqrt{400}\\r = 20

Area of the circle = πr^2

= 3.1416*(20)^2

= 3.1416*400

= 1256.64

Area of yard = 40 ft * 50 ft

= 2000

Percent covered by the water = 100*(area of circle/area of yard)

= 100*(1256.64/2000)

= 100*(0.628)

= 62.8%

= 63%

Area not covered by the water = 100 - 63

= 37%

beks73 [17]

Answer:

4 and 8/21

Step-by-step explanation:

w-5/7=3 2/3

Find 3 2/3 + 5/7

3 2/3 + 5/7 = 3 14/21 + 15/21 = 3 29/21 = 4 8/21

W= 4 8/21

PLS HELP NOW!
Lena [83]

Answer:

The candidate should get 5829 votes.

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a proportion question. The ratio should hold for both the pole and the actual vote.

Equation

x /9570 = 67/110          Multiply both sides by 9570

x = 67 * 9570 / 110       Multiply the two numerators.

x = 641190 / 110            Divide by 110

x = 5829
