Due to the conflict between Israel and Palestine, it is disputed whether if Palestine should be recognized as a independent state or territory. The war of 1967 formed territories such as the West Bank being controlled by Palestine. The Gaza strip is in control of Palestine but has a Israeli population, and Israelis are also in control of Jerusalem.
