In Cell One by Chimamanda Adichie, Nnamabia is a spoilt male child whose parents never corrected or held responsible for his actions. His mother cherished and over pampered him because of his physical attributes. When he stole his mother's jewelries or arrested for murder, he was never corrected by his parents.

His attitude at school resulted to his arrest and imprisonment, because he was referred to as a cultist. At the cell, his experiences made him to realize the impact that his behavior could cost his parents.
