In the story <em>"The Tryout"</em> , the author shows Troy's mother as an anoying person meddling too much in Troy's frienship circle almost with any given opportunity she has; like when she tries to join Troy's meetings with friends without invitation, thus Troy's point of view about his mother is associated with nuisance, hassle and annoyance.
