Answer:

The correct option is option D.Compare-Contrast Patterns

Explanation:

Writers can use many patterns to organize his or her ideas so that readers can clearly understand and remember the information presented in a given text.

The specific pattern or even a combination of patterns chosen by a writer depends upon the particular document's topic and the objectives.

In the particular case of the compare and contrast organizational pattern, the information is arranged according to how similar or different from one another two or more things are. Just as it is the case in the example provided, where Funland and Water world are compared and contrasted.

It might be said that the paragraph is organized according to "compare and contrast" (option D). It is comparing Funland and Wonder World in terms of what they offered and it is providing evidence to support the preferences.

I'd say the answer is B, people are victims of circumstances. The lieutenant was shot and had to have his arm amputated. It isn't specified what the battle was about or what side he was on so we can't say it is A or C because it takes those certain details to come to the conclusions that people get what they deserve and good triumphs evil. Moreover, people cannot control what happens to them as we saw. The lieutenant got shot, something he wasn't controlling, and he had his arm amputated, something he clearly objected to but still had done. He had absolutely no control of anything throughout the story. Therefore, the only logical answer would be B

Some people fast for a period of time after Mardi Gras.
Allisa [31]

Given sentence: Some people fast for a period of time after Mardi Gras. In this, ‘people’ is the simple subject.

Answer: Option A

Explanation:

A sentence consists of a subject and a verb, out of which the subject tends to define the area of focus in a sentence. When a simple noun is present in a subject, there is a noun which can add more meaning into the sentence when added and by doing so the noun is more focused.

Here people defined the as noun, the area of focus in a sentence. Fast is the verb to which there is more meaning added to the sentence. Without any subject, one cannot find a complete sentences.

Ghella [55]

Answer:

To show how unfairly the colonists were treated by the British

Explanation:

According to the excerpt from Philip Frenau's poem, the speaker bemoans how badly he and others are being treated and laments that they find themselves doing things their fathers shunned before, and then he crowns his lamentations by saying that they were "slaves and minions to the parliament" which refers to the British government.
