Answer:

Straw man fallacy.

Explanation:

Fallacy is the use of wrong or invalid argument in the construction of any reasoning to make one's point. It typically involves the use of faulty arguments, which neither is correct nor valid.

Straw man fallacy is the form of fallacy wherein the person giving the argument is basing his points in a such a way that he seems to be refuting his opponent's points. But in reality, he is just refuting an argument that is not even presented by the opponent. In short, he is refuting an argument that is baseless or invisible. It 's like attacking a "straw man", useless and pointless.

From the excerpt, we see the speaker is in favor of hanging the man. While it may be that this "Jones" may have argued for a trial for the accused. The issue of hanging wasn't part of the argument, and not even mentioned. But the speaker is asking for that, thus bringing into the fore the issue of 'hanging' which wasn't even spoken or discussed about.

Artyom0805 [142]

When writing the body paragraphs of a personal letter, we should indent each paragraph.

Explanation:

A personal letter, also known as a friendly letter, is a type of letter sent from one person to another regarding personal matters. Parts a personal letter should include are:

  • The heading -  the address, line by line, with the last line being the date;
  • The greeting - formal or informal depending on whom we're writing the letter to;
  • The body, also known as the main text - the message we want to convey;
  • The complimentary close;
  • The signature line.

The beginning of each paragraph of the body should be indented. In instances when indention isn't used, some space between paragraphs should be left.

Identify the purposes of myth found in the story of Arachne
tatuchka [14]

Answer:

The interpretation of the particular circumstance is provided in the subsection below.

Explanation:

  • Arachne seems to have been a warrior throughout Greek mythology who confronted Athena but was also turned into some kind of spider as more of a result.  The myth consists of three main variants. One account seems to have it that she's the child of a shepherd, who has been exceptionally competent in weaving.
  • It illustrates the strength of gods, as well as the moral implications of wrath. Religious belief becomes the reason, otherwise.
