Drag the tiles to the boxes to form correct pairs.<br> Match the nations and their colonies.
Nataliya [291]

The correct matches are:

- United States - Philippines;

- France - Indochina;

- Great Britain - Singapore;

- The Netherlands - Indonesia;

All four countries had had multiple colonies across the world. While the three European countries had a longer history in colonialism, the United States were new on that scene.

The United States managed to make colonies out of the island nations in the Pacific Ocean, including the Philippines.

France occupied most of Indochina (apart from Siam), and was using lot of the resources of the region.

Great Britain played tactically with taking over Singapore as it had an excellent strategic position.

The Netherlands, even though very often evaded the prospect of colonizing, they saw a big opportunity for making a large profit from the Indonesian Islands, so they invaded them.
