Explain the Empire of Lydia, how it rose, how it came to prominence, and how it fell. Use 1-2 paragraphs for your answer.
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

Lydia, with its capital at Sardis, rose to its greatest prominence under the reign of the Mermnad dynasty (c. 700 - 546 BCE).

When Cyrus II, King of Persia, invaded Sardis in 547 BCE, it became obvious that the lack of a defensive wall protecting the lower city was not a wise choice. The Lydian king Croesus simply retreated to the upper town, and the Persian army controlled the lower city with very little resistance.

The correct answer is - trade.

The Sumerians engaged in trade with their move of exchanging their surplus food for materials like the copper that they needed to develop their weapons and thus their army forces. This was a very smart move from their side because they managed to use the resource they had in abundance but was scarce in the other surrounding areas so that they take what they need to become stronger and pretty much defend more efficiently from the same people they were engaging in trade with.

Firdavs [7]

Answer: The Mexican-American War was waged mostly by federal Army volunteers. Although this may not seem like a constitutional issue, it reflected debates about military power that were banked into the constitutional and the interaction of Article I's Army and Militia clauses.
