What is the source of most of the government's revenue? How does the government develop revenue bills,
ra1l [238]

Explanation:

For a given country, you can find the actual breakdown of its government’s revenues in the Statement of Government Operations (p. 38, IMF). This is like the government’s income statement. Some governments might give it different names and some governments might be more transparent than others.

The other answers to this question give some really good examples that I would group into five broad categories of government revenues.

Taxes. This is usually the lions share of most governments revenue. All kinds of taxes here: household and corporate income taxes, capital gains taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, value-added taxes, customs duties, any fees charged as a proportion of costs associated with providing services, etc. These do not include social contributions.

Public services. Some goods and services provided by the public sector can also generate revenue. This can include licensing bandwidth to telecommunications companies, revenues from state-owned enterprises like national mining companies in commodity-rich countries or national banks, utilities, etc. These are not always profit maximizing services and there tend to be laws or designations around where any profits from these services go.

Grants and contributions. Some governments receive grants from other governments or international organizations. This can include a government of a developing country, or a local or regional government that receives transfers from the national government. Social contributions can include voluntary or mandatory social security contributions, which by some definitions differ from taxes in that they are entitlements payed to the beneficiaries under specific events (old age, sickness).

Interest and property income. The government owns assets such as land that can often generate income through rent, for example. Some governments can act as creditors and lend money directly through public or quasi-public agencies that charge interest (usually lower than market rates). Central Banks can also buy and sell some assets and send any profit to the Treasury/Finance Ministry.

Other revenues. One time sources of revenue can include fines and penalties, sale of public assets, or lotteries.

Why did Germany and Italy become involved in the Spanish civil war?
Alex Ar [27]
The Spanish Civil War was a major conflict that devastated Spain from July 17, 1936 to April 1, 1939. it began after an attempted coup d'état against the government of the Second Spanish Republic, then under the leadership of president Manuel Azaña, by a group of Spanish Army generals, supported by the conservative Confederación Española de Derechas Autónomas (C.E.D.A), Carlist groups and the fascistic Falange Española de las J.O.N.S. the war ended with the victory of the rebel forces, the overthrow of the Republican government, and the founding of a dictatorship led by General Francisco Franco. in the aftermath of the civil war, all right-wing parties were fused into the state party of the Franco regime.
Republicans were supported by the Soviet Union and Mexico, while the followers of the rebellion, nationalists, received the support of Italy and Germany, as well as neighboring Portugal.
the war increased international tensions in Europe in the lead-up to World War II, and was largely seen as a proxy war between the Communist Soviet Union and the Fascists of Mussolini's Italy and Hitler's Nazi Germany. in particular, new tank warfare tactics and the terror bombing of cities from the air were features of the Spanish war which played a significant part in the later general European war.
the Spanish Civil War received a great deal of attention in the mass media, Ernest Hemingway, Martha Gellhorn, George Orwell and Robert Capa all covered it, and became notable for the passion and political division it inspired, and for atrocities committed on both sides of the conflict. like other civil wars, the Spanish Civil War often pitted family members and trusted neighbours and friends against each other. apart from the combatants, many civilians were killed for their political or religious views by both sides, and after the war ended in 1939, Republicans were at times persecuted by the victorious Nationalists.
