European immigrants and black freedmen shifted to the west part of America in looking for new opportunities, while displaced Hispanics battled in their seized homeland to sustain. African Americans were escaped to "Kansas" in 1879 and 1880 from the "Southern United States".

Race discrimination and allegations of the elimination of slavery led many freedmen to look for new housing options after the end of "Reconstruction". The "Kansas Fever Exodus" typically refers to 6,000 black people shifting to Kansas from Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. The first items the Freedman's office decided to provide for freed slaves were food, clothes and medical care.

Hello There!

I do believe that learning that the past is important. To understand the present "current events" we must have an understanding of what has already taken place in the past. Some examples of this would be "Conflicts with other countries" "Economy" or "Treatment of immigrants"  Also, past events and experiences have shaped our identity and who we are as a country. We need to be aware of our surroundings and realize that we got here because our ancestors helped us through generations. Another thing it helps us do is understand change and how the society we live in today came to be. And lastly, its essential to study history to be a global citizen
