Why did death row inmates not trust lawyers?

English

Death row inmates did not trust lawyers because they believed the lawyers were secretly against them, and already threw the case before they went to court.

( I understand why they would think that because the crime they committed made them sentenced for life and they probably felt like they had no chance of actually getting time off becuase everyone was already against them. My take on it)
