The anti-imperialist League was founded in the United States on June 15, 1898 to fight the American annexation of the Philippines and the war that followed, arguing that imperialism went against American principles. It included Andrew Carnegie, Mark Twain, William James, David Starr Jordan and Samuel Gompers. His first president was George S. Boutwell.

American anti-imperialist league condemns imperialism because the league argued that it went against American principles.

Further Explanation:

“The American Anti-Imperialist League” was founded on June 15, 1898, after the U.S occupied Cuba and the Philippine Islands and Puerto Rico. The anti-imperialists opposed development believing that ‘imperialism” violated the “fundamental principle” that the republican government derives from the ‘consent of the governed’.

The league debated that such activity will demand the rejection of ‘American ideals’ of non-intervention and self-government: ideals discussed in the United States “Declaration of Independence”, George Washington’s “Farewell Address”, and Abraham Lincoln’s “Gettysburg Address”.

The league was finally defeated in the views of the public by a ‘new wave’ of politicians who advocated the advantages of extending the American territorial expanse after the ‘Spanish-American war’ and during the beginning of the ‘20th century’.

How do people get chosen to work for the government
Feliz [49]
Once you send your job application to a government agency, you have kicked off a process that is largely out of your control and almost always invisible to you as an outsider. Government organizations have strict processes in handling job applications so that if questioned the organization can prove it gave all applicants a fair opportunity at getting the job.
