The Taino and Carib were the largest groups in the region when Columbus arrived in 1493. ..." The definition of founded is "establish or originate (an institution or organization), especially by providing an endowment." which would confirm he ONLY discovered and didn't found the west indies when both definitions are juxtaposed this is made clear.
