Answer:    C. Politically strong and prosperous

Explanation:  For almost the entire period of its founding, until the end of WWII, the United States emphasized the importance of its neutral policy and isolationism. In fact, the United States entered both world wars in because they were practically been forced by attacks of  someone else to their property or territory, even though they remained firmly in their neutral position until these attacks. All this contributed to the fact that American politics had not been compromised by various international affairs until then, so political America came out of WWII very strong. In addition, after solving its own crisis points in the Pacific, America joined the Allies in fighting in Europe and significantly contributed to the breakdown of Nazis. During WWII America's economy was fueled by war production, so America came out strong in that sense. After WWII America realized that it was time to get involved in solving international problems with regard to preventing any future indication of fascism and Nazism. On this basis, America has grown into a decisive factor in international politics.
