Which type of decision maker tends to choose the first available option in haste?

The gut instinct follower is arguably the simplest decision maker and tends to choose the first option in haste.

When confronted with two possibilities and a handful of information on each, the instinct follower will generally form an immediate impression, and side with wherever that impression lands.

And mostly that is the correct decision but sometimes you just make the decision too quickly and waste it by choosing the very first option on the list.

What is the central idea of the Elizabeth and Hazel
Goryan [66]

Answer:

He recounts Elizabeth's struggle to overcome the trauma of her hate-filled school experience, and Hazel's long efforts to atone for a fateful, horrible mistake.

As they progress from apology to pardon to reconciliation and, remarkably, to friendship, the book follows the traumatic path of the two.

We’ve added some definitions (in green), questions (in red) and paraphrased some sections (in blue) to help with this. You can click on the text that is highlighted for extra guidance.

LISTEN

Read the scene aloud. Are there any words or lines that really stand out in this speech or any sounds or images that are repeated? Where does Shylock use questions and why does he do this?

Take a look at the actors performing this scene. How does Shylock come across in this version? What is driving him and how does this compare to your first impression?
