Answer:

exocytosis

Explanation:

The process by which intracellular vesicles in the cytoplasm fussed with plasma membrane,to empty the content of the vesicle into the extracellular environments is called exocytosis.

Generally this process can take place at all time, where is refers to as Constructive,or due to response to external signals from the extracellular environment, Regulated.

The Exocytic vesicles of this process are produced in the Endoplasmic Reticulum and Golgi apparatus.

The fusion of the vesicles to the plasma membrane(docking)involved energy and a specific adapter molecules between the plasma membrane and the vesicles. This ensures that the vesicles fused with the targeted membrane. The fusion of the adapters leads to release of ATPs,and the formation of fusion pore to channel the content to the external cells or organelles.

The vesicles may become parts of the plasma membrane ot be recycled.

One valid inference that can be made regarding the evolution of modern horses is that : Pliohippus had teeth adapted for grazing

Description of Pliohippus

From the information provided in the question The modern day horse resembling the pliohippus can be inferred to have teeth which is adapted for grazing just like the pliohippus.

The pliohippus evolved from the merychippus which is classified as a grazer. because of its longer/taller teeth the pliohippus was more adapted to grazing than been a browser.

Hence we can conclude that One valid inference that can be made regarding the evolution of modern horses is that : Pliohippus had teeth adapted for grazing

Insect wings may have begun to evolve as lateral extensions of the body that were used as heat dissipaters for thermoregulation.
jeyben [28]

Answer:

The correct answer is option b, that is, an exaptation.

Explanation:

The co-option or the associated term exaptation illustrates a shift in the activity of a trait at the time of evolution. For example, a trait can evolve as it performed one specific activity, however, afterwards, it may start to perform another function. It is common in both behavior and anatomy.

A classic illustration of exaptation is feathers of birds, at the start they were evolved for monitoring temperature, however, afterwards they were amended for flight. Thus, if the given hypothesis is accurate than the modern wings of insects are an example of exaptation.

Adaptive radiation refers to the diversification of an array of organisms to hold a distinct ecological niche. The origination of mutation takes place because of the errors in the replication of DNA. The hox genes in the insects assist them to specify that what appendages will get produced in a segment.
