The 'Tinker vs. Des Moines' supreme court case was significant for public school students because it caused freedom of speech. Freedom of Speech allowed students to talk about what they wanted, where they wanted, when they wanted. With freedom of speech it also allowed students to dress however they wanted as long as they were appropriately covered.
