One tenth is one decimal point to the right of a number.  For example, one tenth of 2 is 0.2  This is the same as dividing by ten.  0.1 X 10 = 1.  0.1 is one tenth of 1.

How many one-to-one correspondences are there between two sets with<br><br> 6 elements each?
WINSTONCH [101]

Answer:

6 * 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 * 1, i.e. 6! or 720. Of course, since both sets have the same number of elements, you can't have one-to-one without being onto, aka a surjection, so “one to one correspondence” is the right term (or bijection—merci, M.

A company that manufactures small canoes has a fixed cost of $24,000. It costs $100 to prod canoes produced and sold.) a. Write
sweet-ann [11.9K]

Answer:

a. C(x) = 24,000 + 100x

b. R(x) = 200x

c. Break-even point is 240 canoes

Step-by-step explanation:

a. Cost function is C(x) = FC + pcost * x

C(x) = 24,000 + 100x

Where

FC=Fixed cost  = 24,000

pcost=costs  to prod canoes = $100

x=produce quantity

b.Revenue function

R(x) = Px * x

R(x) = 200x

Where

Px=Price

x=produce quantity

c. Break-even point is the amount of canoes where revenue are the same as cost.  We cover the total cost with the sales.

So,  FC + pcost * x=Px * x

24,000 + 100x=200x

Isolating x

24,000 =200x- 100x

100x=24000

x=24,000/100

x=240

Karl’s math class is playing a number game. Each student is given a number card containing the numbers 1 to 6. The rules of the
Lena [83]

By finding the probability, we can expect that 2 out of the 30 students will win the prize.

<h3>How many of the 30 students will win the prize?</h3>

First, we should get the probability of winning this game.

Here the students select two numbers out of 6, just to make the calculations let's say that these numbers are 1 and 2.

Now, we need to get these two numbers in two balls. The probability of getting the ball with the number 1 out of the 6 balls is:

p = 1/6

The probability of getting the ball with the number 2 out of the remaining 5 balls (because we already got one) is:

q = 1/5

The joint probability is then:

P = 2*(1/6)*(1/5) = 1/15.

Where the factor 2 comes to take in account the permutations, for the case where we first draw the number 2 and then the number 1.

Then the expected number of students that will win is equal to the probability times the total number of students:

(1/15)*30 = 2

So out of the 30 students, we can expect that 2 will win.

Write the set of real numbers in interval notation. {x | x ≥ −8}
Vikentia [17]
The answer is: [-8, \infty)

Which can be written as: [-8, infinity)

This is the interval from -8 to infinity. So -8 is our left most point on the number line and infinity being our right most. There is no boundary on the right side.

Note how the left side has a square bracket and the right side has a curved parenthesis. This isn't a typo. The square bracket tells the reader "include the endpoint -8 as part of the solution set". The parenthesis tells the reader "do NOT include the endpoint infinity as part of the solution set".

Rule: infinity and negative infinity is always paired with a parenthesis because these aren't numbers. It's impossible to reach infinity, therefore it's impossible to include it in the set of values. If you could include it, then that implies you ran out of numbers.
