Nonfiction is considered a type of literature because it  bases its overall plot on actual historical events.

The genre of literary nonfiction consist on a type of prose that employs the literary techniques thar are usually connected to fiction or poetry to report on persons, places, and events in the real world. Precise tone and words will be used in literari non-fiction. Examples of the literary nonfiction includ science writings, travel writings, nature writings and so forth. The main purpose of non-fiction is to entertain.
