Answer:  The correct answer is : The branches symbolize the unity of the Iroquois nations. The five Iroquois nations see the branches of the tree of great peace with a meaning of union. The peacemaker sent by the Creator of the Iroquois tradition convinced the nations to stop fighting and leave their weapons, then the peacemaker chose a tall tree with needles on the branches that grew in groups of five, symbolizing the five nations.
