1. The Red Scare was a wave of fear that spread through America over the belief that communists were in America performing acts of espionage. Remember, the 1950s was during Cold War where it was capitalism vs communism. If you forget, just remember than communism is almost always red.

2. The Nazi concentration camps were there for the detainment and extermination of those deemed undesirable by Hitler and the nazis. This included, gypsies, Jews, Slavs, and homosexuals. It was part of what Hitler called the final solution in which he believed he had found the way to rid the world of undesirable races and strengthen the Aryan race.

3. Since Hitler was actively planning and carrying out the genocide of the Jews he was not practicing tolerance. Fraternization is the act of turning people into “brothers” and you don’t execute your brothers. Persecution is the active suppression and targeting of a specific group and that certainly occurred to the Jews. Anti-semitism is kind of like a form of racism but it’s targeted specifically at Jews and Jewish culture is the Jews certainly underwent that as well under Hitler.
