Germany and Italy would later strengthen their relationship even more with the Pact of Steel of May 1939.

Axis Powers in the Second World War, were consisted of three countries; Italy, Germany and Japan. If you were thinking of Axis Powers or Central Powers in the First World War, there were Austria Hungary, Germany, the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria. This alliance was also known as Quadruple Alliance. In both cases, the state that was not on the side of Axis Powers is China.
