1. What is Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia (PJP) and Kaposi sarcoma (KS) and what is the significance of K.D. developing KS and

PJP? 2. K.D. has been seropositive for several years, yet he has been asymptomatic for acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). What factors might have influenced K.D.'s development of PJP and KS? 3. What type of isolation precautions do you need to use when caring for K.D.? 4. Because of compromised immune function, K.D. is at risk for developing other opportunistic infections. List at least three. 5. Answer:

1- PJP is an infection produced by a microorganism of the Fungi kingdom. Kaposi's sarcoma is cancer that causes patches of abnormal tissue to grow under the skin, in the lining of the mouth, nose, and throat, in lymph nodes, or in other organs. The significance of KD developing KS and PJP is high, the skin is predisposed to react developing such diseases with a basis of HIV previously infected individual.

2. The low cd4 count is the main reason of the appearance of the opportunists infections. The highest incidence of opportunistic infections was reported in the group of patients with lower CD4 lymphocyte levels below 200 cells / mm3.

3. Low cd4 patients should be wearing a mask, and should be aware of the possibility to avoid crowded places, such as public transport, parks, hospitals, among others.

4. 1. Oral candidiasis.

2. Aspergillosis

3. Toxoplasmosis.

5. Disease prevention

Beginning of primary prophylaxis with a patient with low cd4 counting we must give them trimetoprima-sulfametoxazol double regular dosis in order to prevent him from picking a PJP infection.

Explanation:

1-Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) is an infection produced by a non-cultivable microorganism in vitro that belongs to the Fungi kingdom. From the year 2001 the name of PJP is proposed (instead of PCP) based on the knowledge that Pneumocystis jirovecii is the species of this genus that produces infection in humans while P. carinii only affects rodents.

Since the advent of highly effective antiretroviral therapy, the incidence of PJP, MAC and retinitis by CMV has decreased. Despite this, PJP continues to be the most common AIDS marker infection in patients with a count of

of CD4 < 200 cells /mm3. Other factors associated with high risk for PJP pneumonia include: CD4 percentage <15%, previous episode of PJP, oral candidiasis, recurrent and high bacterial pneumonia viral load. Antiretroviral medication, primary and secondary prophylaxis, and pregnancy modify your viral load

Clinical presentation. Most cases occur in people who are unaware of their HIV infection. HIV or who are not receiving antiretroviral treatment.

Kaposi's sarcoma is cancer that causes patches of abnormal tissue to grow under the skin, in the lining of the mouth, nose, and throat, in lymph nodes, or in other organs. These patches or lesions are usually red or purple.

Imidazole is a commonly used base in organic chemistry. While imidazole contains two nitrogens, only one of them is significantl
Alex787 [66]

Answer:

See explanation and image attached

Explanation:

The structure of imidazole is attached to this answer. The compound is colourless. The solid can be to dissolved in water leading an alkaline solution. Owing to the fact that imidazole possesses heteroatoms in an aromatic heterocycle it is classified as a diazole. The nitrogen atoms in imidazole are not adjacent to each other.

From the structure shown, we can see that the lone pair of the sp2 hybridized nitrogen atom is available because it is not part of the aromatic system of the heterocycle. This nitrogen is much more basic than the nitrogen atom attached to hydrogen whose lone pair becomes part of the aromatic sextet hence it unavailable for protonation and less basic.
